B-town biggies attend funeral of Priyanka Chopra’s father
Actress Priyanka Chopra’s father, Dr Ashok Chopra, was cremated on Monday evening.
Dr Chopra, 62, who had served in the Indian Army as a physician, was suffering from cancer for a long time, family sources said.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is still recovering form his shoulder surgery, was at the cremation ground in Mumbai.
Other Bollywood celebs including Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Anurag Basu, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ranveer Singh, Ramesh Sippy, Vipul Shah, Ramesh Taurani, Daboo Ratnani, Manish Malhotra, Puneet Malhotra and were also present at the funeral.
Priyanka Chopra’s cousin and actress Parineeti Chopra was also present along with other relatives.
Actors Hrithik Roshan, Uday Chopra, Sonali Bendre, director Kunal Kohli were also present to console Priyanka Chopra.
Kunal Kohli had earlier tweeted: “RIP Dr Chopra. Condolences to Priyanka Chopra. Had a great love for music. Met him in Vancouver last, amazing zest for life.”
Dr Chopra had accompanied his actor daughter to Vancouver for the TOIFA Awards earlier this year despite his ill-health. Priyanka Chopra, who won the Best Actress award there for her role in Barfi! had dedicated it to her father. (With PTI inputs)
