Govt employees strike continues for fourth day
The pro-Left government employees and teachers indefinite stir to protest against UDF government’s decision to implement Contributory Pension Scheme for its staff from this April entered the fourth day on Friday with minor skirmishes breaking out in many districts. Dharnas and protests marked the fourth day.
The striking men with the backing of DYFI activists gheraoed the Thiruvananthapuram Peroorkada school, Pattam Girls School and at the Uzhamalakkal School which created tension in the area. Widespread protests and dharnas are held in almost all districts.
As the government has declared dies-non, those who haven’t applied for leave in advance will lose pay.
